Mark Cochrane, CEO of MJC Construction
It’s just been weeks now and I’m already seeing huge changes in my business and in myself. My wife says, “You seem a lot more chilled and a lot more focussed.” I’m departmentalising parts of my business. Seeing what needs to be done in each part and taking action with energy and passion. I understand where I want to go, and Jerome’s encouraging me. I thrive on that. It gets the best out of me when Jerome says, “You should be proud of what you’ve achieved.”
Since our strategy day, my self-esteem and self-worth is up. And you can’t put a price on that. I’m confident now that I’ll pass by people I used to idolise. My self-belief is huge! The focus on key objectives of quality and time. Just dealing with clients who want quality and are prepared to pay for it. We are sending off clients, we don’t need to deal with – as we focus on top 1% who reward for our skills and effort.
Understanding the inner-self is important. Very few people get me to open up to my true self. You need to strip back the machine and do a full rebuild. Bare all to be able to tap into what you’ve got sitting in reserve.
Jerome should feel good about what he’s helped me achieve in a short time…. Key is the leadership you show – understanding how you lead and how staff see your actions is hugely powerful. Understanding yourself is probably the key driver for the business.
I can now see how it’s working. I’m thinking about my thought process before speaking. So, I’m not reactive any more. And I’ve changed from stressed to excited about work. People ask me: “Why are you so happy?” I’ve gone through an irreversible change in my attitude, in my life and my business. And it’s working!
